Being self-employed is kinda cool in the fact that everyday is like Friday. I’m in charge of my own hours, determine my own schedule, and never have to leave the apartment unless I’m required to cover an event for the newspaper.
When I was working full time, I’d get that excited/hopeful/fluttering/Christmas morning ache in my stomach every Friday at around 3pm. What would this weekend hold? What trouble could I get into? How long would I like to sleep in for on Sunday morning?
In honor of those happy Friday feelings, I’ve decided to implement “The Happy Friday Five” onto this blog. Every week, I’ll list five things that I’m thankful for, and I’ll ask you to do the same in the comment section.
Yah, it’s a bit cheesy, but listing things that you’re thankful for is a great way of realizing that you are truly blessed.
Happy Friday Five:
- Even though I don’t realize it all of the time, my life is full of lots of love and wonderful, beautiful people.
- I love working from home. I love the freedom my career allows me to have. I love not having to go into a cubicle everyday. I love not having to sacrifice five days a week for two.
- My dog, even though she’s gross and smells like a foot.
- I love living in the city. It’s grimy and fast paced and loud, but it’s my city.
